When this custom house was built in the 1980’s, the landscape installed in the front yard was a typical lawn—large! The homeowners decided it was time to remove most of that lawn to reduce their monthly water bills and time spent on mowing. The Hilltop showed them how removing a minimum of 500 square feet of lawn can qualify them to receive a rebate from the City of Albuquerque Water Authority.
The new design reduced their lawn by 600 square feet and fresh plantings and automatic drip irrigation were added to meet all the requirements. The clients enjoy the interesting look of their new low-maintenance landscape.
